Beyond physical accessibility, bypassing health facilities offering caesarean section insights from women in Dakars
The study contributes to the broader agenda of inclusive urban development promoted by the UN‑Habitat, showing that improving health outcomes in slums requires integrating health system quality, equity, and community trust into urban transformation strategies. By documenting the lived experiences of women in Dakar’s informal settlements, this research provides evidence that equitable urban futures depend not only on the location of services but also on their responsiveness to the needs and expectations of marginalized urban populations.
