Its research and innovation profile includes artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software engineering, mathematical modeling, robotics, digital technologies, and control systems. In the urban context, these competencies are essential for smarter services, data-driven decision-making, digital governance, urban monitoring, secure information infrastructure, and intelligent systems integration. Through this part of the exhibition, ASOIU will show how digital knowledge and engineering capabilities can contribute to more efficient, connected, and adaptive urban environments.

The School of Chemical Technology will be presented as another essential contributor to sustainable urban development, especially in relation to environmental protection, waste management, water treatment, advanced materials, and greener industrial processes. The school offers education in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, and food engineering, and its research includes waste processing technologies, removal of heavy metals from water, biodegradable and chemically resistant materials, geopolymer and aerogel-based materials, hydrogen production, catalytic systems, and environmental safety. These fields have direct relevance for urban sustainability, especially as cities seek cleaner production, circular resource use, safer environmental management, and innovative materials for modern infrastructure. This part of the stand will emphasize ASOIU’s contribution to building environmentally responsible and technologically advanced urban systems.

The exhibition will also include the School of Oil Mechanics, whose research and academic profile extends beyond traditional industrial applications and contributes to the development of durable, efficient, and innovative engineering systems. The school offers programs in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, machine engineering, and industrial engineering, with research focused on design and strength analysis of machines, reliability of equipment, materials technology, development of energy and industrial machinery, and optimization of production processes. The relevance of this expertise to urban development lies in the broader need for resilient infrastructure, efficient industrial operations, technological modernization, and high-performance materials. By including this school, ASOIU will demonstrate the foundational role of mechanical and industrial engineering in supporting sustainable urban infrastructure and manufacturing ecosystems.

A distinctive feature of ASOIU’s exhibition will be the inclusion of its flagship international and dual degree initiatives, which show how global partnerships can strengthen local capacity for urban transformation. One of the most important examples is the MSc Dual Degree Programme in Renewable Energy, jointly implemented with the University of Warwick. This program is specifically oriented toward sustainable development and energy transition and prepares engineers with advanced knowledge in renewable energy technologies, energy systems analysis, data modeling, innovation, and project management. The program also includes an international summer school and exposure to global energy practices. Its inclusion in the exhibition will clearly position ASOIU as a university investing in the specialists needed for future urban energy systems.

The exhibition will also present the French-Azerbaijani University (UFAZ) as a model of international, interdisciplinary, and research-oriented education. Established as a joint initiative between Azerbaijan and France and implemented by ASOIU together with the University of Strasbourg, UFAZ offers programs in computer science, chemistry, chemical engineering, petroleum engineering and reservoir geology, geosciences, data science and artificial intelligence, water resources and management, and other relevant fields. UFAZ’s emphasis on international curricula, research-based learning, bilingual academic development, and modern laboratory infrastructure makes it highly relevant to urban innovation and sustainability. Through UFAZ, the stand will illustrate how international cooperation can produce highly qualified graduates capable of working across borders and sectors to address complex urban challenges.
