Application open for WUF12 Urban Expo featuring awards and testing grounds

The twelfth edition of the World Urban Forum (WUF12) invites innovators and sustainability leaders to participate in the Urban Expo, which will take place from 4 to 8 November 2024 in Cairo, Egypt.

This year's Urban Expo introduces new initiatives, including the Urban Expo testing grounds and special awards for innovative and sustainable proposals. The deadline for application is 31 July 2024 (at 23:59 UTC+03:00). Applications must be submitted through https://events.unhabitat.org/.

WUF12 introduces the Urban Expo testing grounds for the first time, offering a fresh space to showcase innovation and sustainability in technology, materials, systems and products. From eco-mobility to 3D-printed houses, a diverse array of exhibits will thrive at outdoor locations within the WUF12 premises.

Accessible and sustainable proposals will not only be preferred but also awarded. The WUF12 Urban Expo will launch three recognition awards for the most innovative and creative exhibit, most sustainable exhibit, and most engaging exhibit.

The WUF12 Urban Expo is a platform for Member States and stakeholders to share knowledge, build capacity, network and explore practical solutions to tackle urban challenges as they relate to housing, transport, energy, waste, safety, public spaces, and climate change, among many more.
