Promoting WUF13 at the United Nations Habitat Assembly
With less than one year to go, preparations for WUF13 are in full swing. On the sidelines of the resumed second session of the United Nations Habitat Assembly – the highest global decision-making body on sustainable urbanization – UN-Habitat and the Government of Azerbaijan co-hosted a special WUF13 promotional booth in Nairobi, Kenya.
The booth served as a platform to announce the date and theme of WUF13, highlight why Baku is an ideal host city, and engage delegates, Member States and stakeholders on what’s to come.
Call for submissions: Showcase your housing solutions at WUF13
As part of WUF13, UN-Habitat will launch a new feature – the World Urban Forum Practices Hub – a dedicated space to showcase practical, proven housing solutions from across the globe. This initiative reflects the Forum’s evolving role as not only a platform for dialogue, but a space for peer learning, solution exchange and inspiration for concrete action.
UN-Habitat invites all stakeholders, including local and regional governments, civil society, academia, and the private sector, to submit impactful initiatives that contribute to the realization of adequate housing. Submissions are welcome in various thematic areas, such as housing affordability, informal settlements, climate resilient-housing and socially inclusive housing solutions. Selected practices will be featured at the World Urban Forum Practices Hub in Baku, providing visibility and opportunities for dialogue, scaling and replication.
