Localization of Sustainable Development Goals and Monitoring of Urban Development in Serbia
About Serbia NUF2
The second National Urban Forum in Serbia was held on the 11th and the 12th of April 2024 in the City of Niš in Southern Serbia with the topic “Localization of Sustainable Development Goals and Monitoring of Urban Development in Serbia”.
It was co-organized by Spatial and Urban Planning of the Republic of Serbia, Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, City of Niš, Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities – Association of Towns and Municipalities of Serbia, in partnership with the Office of United Nations Resident Coordinator in Serbia, United Nations Human Settlements Programme – UN Habitat and World Bank, with the support of Science and Technology Park in Niš and Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs – SECO.
The special focus of the forum was on the following topics: localization of SDGs, multi-level urban governance, monitoring and implementation of sustainable development goals in local self-government units, green agenda and urban development, digitalization, urban culture and social city.
Particular attention was paid on the exchange of experiences in the field of urban development at the level of Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the Southern Caucasus and Central Asia.
