Engineer; graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Karadeniz Technical University. He completed his master’s degree in the Urban Systems and Transportation Management program at Bahçeşehir University.
He began his career in 1995 at the Transportation Coordination Directorate of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. He worked as an engineer and manager at the Istanbul Electric Tramway and Tunnel Corporation (IETT). He served as Deputy Director of Traffic and Director of Transportation Coordination at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, as well as Director of the Transportation Department; and as Deputy Secretary-General responsible for Transportation, Environment, and Technology Investments. During his tenure in these positions, he supervised the development and implementation of the Istanbul Transportation and Logistics Master Plan. As part of these efforts, roads, intersections, and tunnels were planned to improve Istanbul’s road infrastructure.
In 2019, he was appointed as Deputy Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure. While serving as Deputy Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, he was appointed Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure on March 28, 2020. During his tenure as Minister, he carried out many major projects in the fields of communications, transportation, and infrastructure to ensure Turkish national and international integration. By developing the 2053 Transportation and Logistics Master Plan, he outlined the investments to be made in Türkiye by 2053.
Karaismailoğlu is married and the father of two children.
