Alexa Martinez

Alexa Martínez Soto is a Mexican researcher working at the intersection of data science, machine learning, AI, and public policy. She uses computational tools to address complex public problems and support better decision-making.
She is a Senior Research Programmer at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where she leads an AI agent project built on the SISEPUEDE infrastructure to support decarbonization planning across Latin America. Previously, she worked as a Data Scientist on the Innovation team at UN-Habitat's Quality of Life Project, analyzing mobile data and processing urban laws and strategic plans in multiple languages from more than 30 cities.
She has also taught at Tecnológico de Monterrey's high school program, designing courses on public problem-solving, systems thinking, and AI literacy.
Alexa holds a Master's in Applied Economics and a BA in Governance and Public Transformation from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
