Ashraf Sobhy

Prof. Dr. Ashraf Sobhy has been Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports since June 2018, serving also as Chairman of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers. He is the President of the African University Sports Federation and a Board member of the World Anti-Doping Agency. As a Professor of Sports Business Management at Helwan University, Dr. Sobhy brings extensive expertise to his roles. He earned his Ph.D. in Sports Management from Ottawa and Cairo Universities and holds a Master’s degree in Public Relations from Helwan University, along with diplomas in Marketing from Canada’s Algonquin College. His career includes leadership roles like Executive Director of Cairo International Stadium and Baniyas Football Club (UAE). Dr. Sobhy is recognized for his impact on sports and youth empowerment.
