Ayse Yonder

Ayse Yonder is a city planner with a background in architecture and Professor Emeritus at Pratt Institute, New York. She is a founding member of the Collective for Community Culture and Environment (CCCE LLC), an all-women-owned consulting business and interdisciplinary network. In New York City, through CCCE and her teaching, she has supported community organizations, tenant associations, and environmental justice groups in shaping housing and environmental decisions. Internationally, she has worked for over three decades with KEDV Türkiye (Foundation for the Support of Women’s Work) and the Huairou Commission on grassroots women-led initiatives in disaster resilience, land rights, and secure tenure. Currently serving on UN-Habitat’s Advisory Group on Gender Issues (AGGI), her scholarship and practice focus on women-led community development, informal settlement regularization, and the care economy.
