Barbara Holtmann
Barbara is a feminist urban safety and community development practitioner from Johannesburg.
She has experience in civil society, government and the private sector.
She developed the ‘What it looks like when it’s Fixed’ methodology for collaboration in addressing complex social problems, as an output of her doctoral thesis.
Barbara is a director of the consultancy Fixed.Africa, on the African continent and beyond, with responses to violence, poverty, vulnerability and fragility, particularly for girls and women, community safety and urban development.
Barbara has a Master’s in Public and Development Management (MP&DM) from the University of Witwatersrand School of Governance (2003) and a Doctorate in the Management of Technology and Innovation from the DaVinci institute for Technology Management (2010)
Barbara serves as the President of the Board of the International Centre for the Prevention of Crime (Montreal).
