Cruz Edgardo Garcia Santiago
Cruz Garcia is a Puerto Rican architect, educator, organizer, and author. He co-founded WAI Architecture Think Tank, a global studio that interrogates the political, historical, and material dimensions of architecture and urbanism, and LOUDREADERS, a public platform and trade school for critical spatial practices, inspired by the radical, anticolonial education born in the tobacco factories of the Caribbean. He is the author of Universal Principles of Architecture: 100 Archetypes, Methods, Conditions, Relationships, and Imaginaries and A Manual of Anti-Racist Architecture Education. Garcia has organized efforts around LandBack, Reparations, and Networks of Solidarities. Through spaces, structures, curricula, and platforms for public engagement, his work addresses issues of anti-colonial solidarity and ecological justice.
