Eric Huybrechts
Eric Huybrechts is the Head of the International affairs of the Institute Paris Region, the largest spatial planning institute in Europe. He is a senior Architect and Urban/Regional Planner with a considerable experience in planning megacities, regions and at the national level (25 countries), like the National Spatial Strategy of Saudi Arabia, the National Urban Development Plan of Ethiopia, the Master Plan of Phnom Penh, and the management plan of Samarkand among others.He is the co-chair of Habitat Professional Forum of UN-Habitat, Secretary general of the global network of Metropolitan and Territorial Planning Agencies (MTPA-gn), member of ISOCARP (ex-board member, WPC60 Congress director), member of ICOMOS (CIVVIH expert), and Heritopolis, and Officer of the Royal Order of Sahametrey (Cambodia). He has an extensive academic experience as a researcher in the Middle-East countries (CERMOC/now IFPO) and as a lecturer of Regional and Urban planning in different countries.
