Ester Carro
Ester Carro is an architect, activist, and social urbanist recognized on the Forbes Under 30 list (2023) in the design category and honored by the Brazilian Council of Architecture and Urbanism (2023) for her work democratizing access to architecture and urbanism for vulnerable populations. She is a PhD student and professor in the Architecture and Urbanism program at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. Ester holds a Master's degree in design, production, and management of urban space with a focus on urban planning from FIAM - FAAM Centro Universitário, and specializations in Social Urbanism and Housing and the City. Since 2017, she has served as president of Fazendinhando, an institute dedicated to territorial, socio-environmental, and cultural transformation in favelas, particularly in the community where she was born and raised.
