Ghassan Abdullah Alothman

Dr. Ghassan Abdullah Alothman is a Consultant Pediatric Respirologist and Intensivist, Founder and CEO of Athr Community (NPO). A Kuwait University medical graduate, he completed Pediatrics at McMaster University, followed by subspecialty training in Pediatric Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children. He holds Canadian and American board certifications in General Pediatrics, Pediatric Respiratory Medicine, and Pediatric Critical Care. From 2002–2007, he established and directed Pediatric Intensive Care and Respiratory services at Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital. In 2015, he joined Yarmouk Healthy City Council, later serving as Chairman (2021–2024), where he advanced community health, urban development, and public engagement through WHO Healthy City principles. He now leads Athr Community, focusing on healthier residential environments through sustainable urban development, inclusion, justice, and the relationship between human behavior and the built environment.
