Haoliang Xu

Haoliang Xu was appointed UN Under-Secretary-General and UNDP Associate Administrator by the UN Secretary-General in June 2023.
He previously served as UN Assistant Secretary-General (ASG), UNDP Assistant Administrator & Director of Bureau for Policy and Programme Support and was UN ASG & UNDP Assistant Administrator and Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific. Prior to this,he served as Deputy Regional Director, Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS New York;UN Resident Coordinator & UNDP Resident Representative Kazakhstan; Country Director Pakistan;Deputy Resident Representative for Programme Pakistan; Country Manager & Senior Deputy Resident Representative Timor-Leste; Deputy Resident Representative Iran; Programme Manager,Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific,New York;Programme Officer/JPO,UNDP Kazakhstan.Mr.Xu, a Chinese national, holds a Bachelors Engineering from Tongji University, MS in Management from the Stevens Institute of Technology and an MIA, Columbia University.
