Harry Tekaiti

Honorable Harry Tekaiti is the Minister for Culture and Internal Affairs in the Government of Kiribati, recognized for his commitment to community development, cultural preservation, urban management and effective local governance. He previously served as Mayor of North Tarawa (Tarawa Teinaieta) for seven years, where he strengthened local development, community engagement, and service delivery. He has also been a Member of Parliament for four years, contributing actively to legislation and national policy, particularly in urban development and governance. This time, Honorable Harry Tekaiti has served now as Minister where he oversees local government, cultural heritage, rural affairs, urban management, and national elections, with a focus on strengthening councils and promoting inclusive governance.
