Henry Yap

Henry Yap is an architect, environmental planner and real estate practitioner with nearly four decades of practice. Currently Undersecretary for Planning, International Cooperation and Institutional Partnerships of the Philippines’ Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, he serves as alternate of the DHSUD Secretary to three key shelter agencies as well as the National Human Settlement Board, among others.
He headed the Philippine Delegation to the 2023 UN Habitat General Assembly as well as other international ministerial/high-level meetings in urban development, housing and construction.
A BSc Architecture cum laude graduate of the University of the Philippines, he holds a MSc in Urban Planning in Developing Countries from the University of Wales, Cardiff.
Named the Philippines' 2023 Most Outstanding Professional in the field of Environmental Planning, he was elevated to Fellow by the Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners in 2006.
