Hesham El-Helbawy
Dr. El-Helbawy holds a Ph.D. in Rural Sociology and has over 30 years of experience in rural and local development. He currently serves as Assistant Minister of Local Development and directs key initiatives, including the Hayah Karima Initiative and Upper-Egypt Local Development Program.
Dr. Hesham El-HELBAWY – Assistant to the Minister of Local Development. He got his bachelor's degree in rural sociology from Alexandria University in 1990 and received M.Sc. Rural Sociology in 1993: and his Ph.D. in the same major with an emphasis on ‘The Role of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Rural Development in 1998. over 30 years of professional experience working with government, private, and banking sectors, as well as several international and local organizations, in areas related to rural sustainable development, integrated local development, as well as slum development, and strengthening the informal sector role in development.
