Hon. Sahar Attia

Sahar Attia is an Emeritus Professor at Cairo University. She has been the head of the Department of Architecture in the same institution 2013-2017. Aside of her teaching and research work , she is the co-founder of the Associated Consultants, a multi-disciplinary consulting firm. Her research interests include urban development and regeneration, sustainable urbanism, and upgrading the informal areas. She is currently a member in the Supreme Council of urban Development in Egypt. She is a member in the Stakeholders Advisory Group Enterprise (SAGE) UN Habitat, the co-chair of the University Network Initiative - UN-Habitat, a board member in Ecocity Builders USA, and the co-director of the UIA social habitat work program. In January 2021, she has been appointed as MP in the Egyptian Parliament, she is also the vice director of the WG on Science and Technology in the IPU.
