Full Professor of Geography at the University of the Balearic Islands, Spain. President of the Spanish Geographical Association (2021–25). Director of the Chair of Urban Studies (UIB, 2023–24). Director of the School of Geography and Global Change (UIMP, 2024): The Future of the City, Housing Challenges. Visiting Professor at more than 20 universities, including Visiting Scholar (2015) and Tinker Visiting Professor (2016) at Stanford University. At Springer, Advisory Editor of “The Urban Book Series” and Editorial Board member of “City Development”. Editor of “The Routledge Handbook of Urban Studies in Latin America and the Caribbean” (2023). Author of more than 200 scientific publications and principal investigator or team member in 23 funded research projects. Extensive experience in international cooperation projects. His main research areas include housing, urban fragmentation, gentrification, and urban planning, focusing primarily on Europe, USA and Latin America and the Caribbean
