Johnson Okoth Okello is an accomplished advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over 20 years of experience. He holds a Law degree from the University of Nairobi, a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law, and advanced degrees including an MA in Advanced Legislative Studies and a PhD in Law. A Chevening Scholar, Dr. Okello has also earned certifications in Legislative Drafting from institutions like the International Law Institute and the University of Louisiana. His career began at the Kenya Law Reform Commission, where he specialised in legal research and legislative drafting. He has consulted for organisations such as the UN, UNDP, and the World Bank, contributing to legislative drafting and training. Dr. Okello currently serves as Director of Legal Services in the Senate of Kenya. He is dedicated to advancing legislative drafting in Africa, training young advocates. He is the first African elected President of the Commonwealth Association of Legislative Counsel.
