Joslyn Nzau

Dr Joslyn Muthio Nzau is an environmental governance and climate resilience specialist whose work sits at the intersection of gender, climate justice, urban inequality and community resilience.

She has over 15 years' experience working across Africa with governments, researchers, development partners and grassroots communities on developmental issues ranging from informal settlements and urban governance to food systems, biodiversity conservation, smallholder and pastoralist livelihoods and locally led climate adaptation.

She is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Development Research (ZEF) at the University of Bonn in Germany.

Dr Muthio brings a grounded perspective shaped by research, fieldwork, and implementation. She consistently advocates centering women’s voices, local knowledge systems and community agency in climate and urban policy conversations.
