Jyoti Hosagrahar
Jyoti Hosagrahar is the Deputy Director of the World Heritage Centre at UNESCO, where she oversees several key programs, including the Recommendation on the Historic Urban Landscape and the World Heritage Cities Programme. She also serves as the Climate Change Focal Point for the Culture Sector, focusing on World Heritage and sustainable development, and leads the UNESCO Culture|2030 Indicators program, which monitors culture’s role in sustainable development. From May 2016 to November 2018, she directed the Division for Creativity at UNESCO, overseeing UNESCO Conventions on Intangible Cultural Heritage and Cultural Diversity. Prior to that, she was a professor and Director of the SUI Lab at Columbia University and held the UNESCO Chair in Culture, Habitat, and Sustainable Development in Bangalore, where she also chaired the Ph.D. program. She founded the NGO Sustainable Urbanism International (SUI) in Bangalore, reflecting her longstanding commitment to sustainable urban development.
