Margarita Greene is an Architect, holds a Master in Sociology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a PhD from University College London, England. She is Full Professor at the School of Architecture, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Associate Researcher at the Centre for Sustainable Urban Development, CEDEUS, Principal Researcher at the Housing Millennium Nucleus, and General Coordinator of the Network for Sustainable Urban Development in Latin America and the Caribbean, REDEUS_LAC. In her 35 years as an academic, she has supervised almost 60 Master’s and PhD theses, published over 50 articles in indexed journals and book chapters, and a dozen books, and has led numerous multidisciplinary research projects with national and international funds and multiple consultancies in Chile and abroad. Her areas of specialization include incremental construction, vulnerable neighborhoods, informal settlements, space syntax, urban project and architectural education.
