Maruxa Diaz Cardama Garcia
Maruxa Diaz Cardama Garcia is the Secretary General of SLOCAT, with over 20 years of experience in designing and implementing impactful strategies, public policy solutions, and multi-stakeholder partnerships focused on equitable prosperity, sustainability, and climate action. She has held executive and advisory roles in NGOs, international organizations, and civil service, collaborating with leaders across multilateral organizations, governments, civil society, philanthropy, and business in diverse global contexts. Prior to SLOCAT, Maruxa founded the multi-stakeholder coalition Communitas, advancing knowledge-based advocacy for the Sustainable Development Goal on Cities. Her past positions include Secretary General of Regions for Sustainable Development, Senior Policy Specialist at Cities Alliance-UNOPS, and regional civil service roles in the UK and Spain. Maruxa has also served as Champion of the Lancet Pathfinder Initiative for Healthy Zero-Carbon Futures and chaired the 68th UN Civ
