Founder/CEO Mangu Integrated Community Project (MICOP Kenya) and Focus for MICOP/Suqoon Kenya Age Friendly Cities and Communities Advocacy Program has over 35 years working experience in the Older Persons and Ageing space.
Practisioner in Mental and Medical Health Counselling specializing in geronto- psychology. He is a WHO certified Healthy Ageing Practitioner and a member of WHO CSO Commission.
He leads Older Persons Rights Advocacy Network in Campaign and awareness creation for Age Friendly Cities and Communities heading the discussions with the Mayors, and local Goverment leadership for enhancement and promotion of age friendly smart cities and communities.
Michael is an Ambassador Africa Region for the 3rd World Congress of WHO Age Friendly Cities and Communities
He is involved in the United Cities and Local Governments Global Summit 2026 planning.
Michael is involved in the Universal Periodic Review Process Training for Human Rights Defenders under UPR Info and he has presented several petitions to the UNHRC on the rights of older persons.
Co Chair Generational Assembly of Partners Older Persons Partner Constituent Group; Member of: The Global Alliance for the Rights of Older Persons (GAROP), Global Network for the Rights of Older Persons, UN NGO Committee on Ageing Communication Committee, UN-Habitat World Urban Campaign Executive Steering Committee and the UPR Kenya Coalition.
