Peter Grohmann

Peter Grohmann is the Resident Coordinator of the UN System in Mexico since 2021. Previously he served as UN RC and Humanitarian Coordinator in Venezuela (2016-2021) and as UN RC and UNDP Resident Representative in Bahrain (2011-2016), after being UNDP Country Director in Panama (2007-2011) and Deputy Resident Representative in El Salvador and Belize (2003-2007).
Peter started with UNDP in New York in 1997 in the Department for Development Policy and was appointed Manager of the Global Public- Private Partnership for the Urban Environment Programme in 1999, first in New York, and from 2001 in South Africa.
He has experience as international consultant on local development in Nicaragua and wrote his master's thesis on urban social movements in Caracas. He holds a postgraduate degree in Development Planning from the ETH Zurich and a master’s degree in Geography from the University of Bonn.
