Sami Hijjawi

<p>Sami A. Hijjawi is the Minister of Local Government in the State of Palestine's 19th Government. Born in Nablus in 1959, he holds a PhD in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Engineering, 1987) and an MSc in Civil Engineering (1983). With 39 years of experience in civil engineering across Jordan, Yemen, and Palestine, Dr. Hijjawi has been twice elected as a board member of the Palestinian Engineers Association and is an active member of various international engineering organizations. He was recently appointed by the Palestinian President to the board of trustees of Khadori University. Since March 2022, he has served as Mayor of Nablus, demonstrating his deep commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the Nablusi community through his dedicated efforts and leadership.</p>
