Sergio Martin
Director General for Sustainable Development Policies. He is a career diplomat and holds a degree in Law (University of Barcelona), a master's degree in International Relations, and is a specialist in international mediation (UNED). He has devoted most of his professional career to international cooperation, sustainable development policies, and human rights. In the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation he has been desk officer for Multilateral Organizations and advisor for European Development Policies and EU-ACP Relations. At the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation , he has worked as Coordinator for Regional Affairs in the Department for Cooperation with Africa, as Senior Advisor to the Agency’s Director, and as the Head of the Department for Cooperation with South America, also in charge of the Indigenous Programme and the Afro-descendants Programme.<br>He also worked as a special advisor in the UN Secretary General in New York.
