Thiago Herick De Sa

  Thiago Herick de Sa holds a degree in Sports Science, along with a Master's and PhD in Public Health. Since 2022, he has served as the responsible officer for Age-friendly Environments at WHO-HQ (Department of Social Determinants of Health), where he coordinates WHO’s Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities and leads the development and implementation of the guide for National Programs of Age-friendly Cities and Communities. He also provides technical support to WHO Member States on age-friendly environments. Since joining WHO in 2017, Thiago has contributed to urban, transport, and health initiatives, including the WHO Urban Health Research Agenda (2022), the Sourcebook on Integrating Health in Urban and Territorial Planning (2020), and the global adaptation of the HEAT tool (2021). Before WHO, he worked as a researcher in Brazil and the UK, with numerous publications in high-impact scientific journals.
