Uchendu Eugene Chigbu
Chigbu is Professor of Land Administration at the Namibia University of Science and Technology and Director of the Institute for Land, Livelihood and Housing (ILLH), Namibia. He is known for advancing innovative land governance ideas, including the Tenure-responsive Land-use Planning (TR-LUP) concept and guide, used in upgrading informal settlements in Okahandja Municipality. His Tenure-Restoration Nexus concept was adopted by the UNCCD for the Global Land Outlook II report. He also served as International Advisor to The Gambia in developing its National Land Policy and supported Tanzania in integrating land governance into its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0). Through teaching, research, training, networking, and advisory work, he focuses on practical solutions for urban, peri-urban, and rural transformation. He is also Co-Editor-in-Chief of Land Use Policy (Elsevier). He is also the host of the "eCHIGBU" podcast, a YouTube channel focused on land-related discussions.
