Summary

Urban regeneration is a holistic and integrative process that addresses spatial inequality, enhancing access to adequate housing. Through inclusive land policies, regulatory frameworks, and planning instruments, urban regeneration initiatives promote culturally and socially diverse neighbourhoods, socio-economic development, and ensure that transformation benefits local communities.

To achieve these goals, collaboration across sectors and levels of government is essential. This session will explore housing policies that support equitable development, emphasizing the role of strong partnerships in reducing poverty and advancing shared prosperity.

UN-Habitat will present the support it offers to governments and urban actors in driving access to adequate housing and promoting inclusive communities and through integrated urban regeneration processes.

A moderated panel of representatives from national and local governments, international financial institutions, and the private sector will share diverse experiences, highlighting the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration in urban regeneration to deliver adequate housing for all.

The session will conclude with a Q&A, encouraging dialogue and exploring pathways for future cooperation.
