Join us for the official opening press conference of the twelfth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF12).
This year’s Forum, taking place in Cairo – a city that intertwines rich history and modernism – marks a significant moment for sustainable urban development and marks a return to the African continent after more than 20 years. WUF12 is set to feature nearly 600 events that focus on localizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in addressing the global housing crisis, rising living costs, and climate emergencies.
WUF12 will gather national, regional, and local government representatives, academics, business leaders, urban planners, and civil society to discuss the pressing urban challenges facing our world today. The Forum’s theme, "It all starts at home: Local actions for sustainable cities and communities," underlines the vital role of local efforts in tackling global challenges like the housing crisis and climate change.
